Our smartwatch tells us when we haven’t slept well. But when it comes to our most vulnerable people – the elderly in home care – we are often flying blind.

Blood pressure is measured perhaps once a day (and noted down on paper). Or only when the doctor comes. There is a huge data gap in between. We often only notice a deterioration when the emergency doctor has to be called.

This is “reactive care”. And it’s expensive, dangerous and outdated. The answer is telecare.

From “patient” to “partner”

Telecare does not mean that grandma becomes a cyborg. It means that we integrate medical security invisibly into everyday life. At CAATS, we use IoT (Internet of Things) technologies for this.

Imagine the following scenario: Mr. Müller (82) gets up in the morning and stands on his scales. He then briefly puts on the blood pressure cuff. That’s it. He doesn’t have to write anything down. He doesn’t have to open an app. The devices automatically send the data to the CAATS Cloud via Bluetooth.

What happens in the background (The Magic)

While Mr. Müller eats breakfast, the system analyzes the data:

Sync: The values end up in his digital file.

Analysis: The AI compares the values with his individual profile.

Warning: Sudden weight gain? This could indicate heart failure (water retention). The system immediately sends a push message to the responsible nurse or doctor.

The result: intervention before Mr. Müller has to go to hospital. Reactive firefighting tactics become proactive prevention.

Why the “Hospital at Home” model is the future

We are heading towards a demographic reality in which there will simply not be enough places in care homes. “Outpatient before inpatient” is no longer just a political slogan, it is a necessity.

But outpatient care only works safely if the home is technologically upgraded. CAATS provides precisely this infrastructure:

For relatives: The reassuring feeling (“safety net”) of knowing that the vital signs are stable without having to call constantly.

For doctors: A complete progression curve instead of individual snapshots. This means that medication can be adjusted more precisely.

For care services: Fewer unnecessary control trips (“empty kilometers”), more time for clients who need acute help.

Conclusion: technology for a better quality of life

Telecare is not a cold monitoring tool. It is the key to freedom. It enables people to live longer, more safely and more independently in their familiar surroundings.

At CAATS, we believe that the best care is the one you hardly notice – because it simply works in the background.

Why we need to stop measuring health only selectively – and how continuous monitoring relieves the burden on care homes and keeps senior citizens in their own homes for longer.

[27

post-1654","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-digitization
["GET
